Stuart is currently employed as a Director within Health Infrastructure Queensland, where he is involved in the planning and delivery of major capital works projects in both metropolitan, regional and remote locations. Stuart's professional experience spans across both the property/construction and healthcare sector. Stuart initially completed a Bachelor of Property and Sustainable Development, with subsequent employment as a project manager across commercial, residential and industrial projects in Melbourne. Following this, Stuart pursued a major career change and completed a Bachelor of Nursing and Graduate Certificate in Critical Care. His years as a clinician were spent primarily in Intensive Care Units on the Gold Coast and in Mackay. During his time as a clinician, Stuart also worked as a Nurse Navigator (Emergency), Clinical Nurse Consultant (Hospital in the Home) and COVID-19 response lead. Prior to joining Health Infrastructure Queensland in mid-2025, Stuart worked as the Executive Director of Infrastructure and Assistant Director of Nursing (Capital Projects) with the Townsville and Mackay Hospital and Health Services respectively. Having amalgamated both clinical and non-clinical experience in recent years, Stuart strives to drive the strategic planning and timely delivery of high-quality infrastructure projects that will meet the evolving needs of future generations. This focus includes challenging the status quo and ensuring that projects utilise sustainable design principles to provide internal and external environments that optimise end-user experience.
